The UK competition authority is consulting until 10 July 2020 on its revised provisional findings about Amazon's proposed acquisition of a 16% stake and "certain rights" in Deliveroo. Although the authority has provisionally cleared the transaction, its findings suggest that Amazon will face additional scrutiny if it tries to take control of the online food delivery company in the future.

Postal operators called for the European Commission to place a strong emphasis on flexibility and subsidiarity when reviewing the Postal Services Directive, particularly given the effect of the COVID‑19 pandemic. The Colombian Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC) adopted the roadmap for the modernisation of 2G and 3G networks to 4G. The roadmap foresees new auctions of IMT spectrum in the 700 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands before 2022. In addition, MinTIC will publish with the spectrum and health authorities a document on the effects of infrastructure deployment on health.

In the Americas, only the United States and Colombia have so far adopted a comprehensive 5G strategy. Most countries in the region identified 5G pioneer bands and are analysing its current use, migration and coexistence options. Among the surveyed countries, only the United States and Canada launched commercial services. The other countries have run several trials in selected spectrum bands, while Colombia established a specific procedure for granting temporary licences for 5G pilots, with trials starting in June 2020 in the 3.5 GHz band. The battle has been accentuated by COVID-19 shutdowns and stay-at-home orders, sparking a new boom in the streaming world. The FCC adopted procedures to award up to US$16bn until 2030 for rural broadband. The funds will be awarded through a reverse auction to eligible service providers that commit to offer voice and broadband services to fixed locations in over five million underserved areas in the US. The auction is scheduled to begin on 29 October 2020.
